Box Office: Shaitaan Scored A Very Good Second Week

Mumbai, March 22 - Ajay Devgn-fronted supernatural thriller Shaitaan has had a very good second week at the domestic box office, dropping just around 55% from the opening frame and also going past the 100 crores net mark. ## Directed by Vikas Bahl, Shaitaan scored approximately 34.50 crores net in the second week, pushing the total collection to over 114+ crores in 14 days. The movie is currently the second highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2024 and is looking to finish over 150 crores in India net. ## At the overseas box office, the movie has so far minted an estimated 30 crores as worldwide total crossed 165 crores gross. Mumbai, March 21 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently announced a film with director A.R. Murugadoss and producer Sajid Nadiadwala. The announcement came out of the blue which led to speculations that the actor's The Bull with producer Karan Johar and director Vishnuvardhaan, is shelved. ## The official announcement of The Bull hasn't been made yet but it was supposed to be Salman's immediate next. However, according to Peepingmonn.com, the movie, contrary to the rumours, is still on and will now go on floors by the end of this year. ## It is said that the deteriorating India-Maldives relations are posing some political and controversial challenges for the project at this juncture and hence Salman and Karan have mutually decided to start it later this year. ## The Bull is inspired by true events and is reportedly based on ‘Operation Cactus’, which the Indian government launched in the Maldives islands in 1988 to prevent a coup by a group of 200 Sri Lankan militants against then President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. Mumbai, March 21 - Yami Gautam-fronted political thriller Article 370 is the latest entry in the 100 crores worldwide gross club, emerging as a box office superhit.## The Aditya Suhas Jambhale's directorial flick will be hitting the 100 crores mark by the end of the day (28th day). It has so far grossed an estimated 99.50 crores, including 87 crores in India and 12.50 crores overseas in 27 days. ## Article 370 is the 4th Bollywood movie of 2024, after Fighter, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and Shaitaan to cross the milestone of 100 crores worldwide gross. Mumbai, March 20 - Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's aerial action thriller Fighter has almost completed its box office journey, and it is currently the highest-grossing Indian film of the year with over 350 crores gross. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie was released during the Republic Day weekend and scored approximately 118.50 crores net over the 4-day weekend. The movie dropped a bit heavily on its first Monday despite super-positive reviews and this posed a threat as far as the film's lifetime collection was concerned at that time. ## However, staying true to its title, Fighter fought back and managed to rebound with solid consistency over the next couple of weeks. Mumbai, March 19 - Amazon Prime Video set to woo audiences around the world, craving for Indian content. The streaming giant has announced a new slate with 70 Indian shows and movies that are scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform over the next two years. ## Amid the original shows and movies, Prime Video also announced several films which will premiere after their theatrical releases. While some of the films are already in the filming stage, some of them will start rolling soon and will premiere on Prime Video after completing their theatrical journey. ## Here are all the Indian movies coming to Prime Video after their theatrical release - ## Housefull 5 - The fifth instalment in the popular comedy franchise, the movie stars Akshay Kumar, and Riteish Deshmukh in the leading roles. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, HF5 is scheduled to hit big screens on June 6, 2025. ## Chandu Champion - Actor Kartik Aaryan teamed up with director Kabir Khan for this inspirational sports drama, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The movie is scheduled to be released theatrically on June 14, 2024. ## Singham 3 - Director Rohit Shetty aims to make a solid comeback at the box office with the third instalment of the cop action drama, starring Ajay Devgn in the title role. Also featuring Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Arjun Kapoor, Singham Again is slated to hit big screens in August 2024. ## Ashwatthama - Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani's Pooja Entertainment came up with the big announcement of the day, confirming the magnum opus with Shahid Kapoor in the title role. Kannada filmmaker Sachin Ravi has been attached to direct this biggie which will go on floors in September this year. ## Baaghi 4 - Tiger Shroff will be returning to headline producer Sajid Nadiadwala's action thriller. It will be directed by Adnan A Shaikh and Yasir Jah, and it will be released in 2025. ## Kantara: Chapter 1 - Actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty's period action thriller film is a prequel to his mega-blockbuster film Kantara. The movie is produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films and it will have a Pan India release later this year. ## Hari Hara Veera Mallu - Director Krish Jagarlamudi's period action adventure film starring Pawan Kalyan has been in production for a long time. Produced by Mega Surya Production, the film also stars Nidhi Agarwal, and Bobby Deol in prominent roles. ## Stree 2 - The hugely-awaited sequel to 2018's horror-comedy, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khuranna will be hitting cinemas this August. It is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios. ## Ikkis - A biopic of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal PVC, the most highly decorated hero of the 1971 War, the movie stars Agastya Nanda, Dharmendra, and Jaideep Ahlawat. It is directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Maddock Films. ## Ustaad Bhagat Singh - Director Harish Shankar reunited with superstar Pawan Kalyan for this mass entertainer, also starring Sree Leela. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the movie will be released in 2025. ## Game Changer - The highly-awaited political action thriller, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, and director by Shankar, the movie has been in production for a long time. It is expected to hit big screens in the last quarter of 2024. ## Family Star - Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur come together for the first time to headline director Parasuram's family drama film. Produced by Dil Raju, the movie is scheduled to release on April 5, 2024. ## Bad Newz - Karan Johar's Dharma Production announced a comedy-drama starring Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri, and Ammy Virk. Los Angeles, March 19 - Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures' sci-fi epic Dune: Part 2 has stormed past $500 million at the worldwide box office, surpassing the entire run of its predecessor which grossed $433 million, within three weeks. ## Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the blockbuster has so far grossed $210+ million (1740 crores) in North America and $290+ million (2410 crores) internationally for $500+ million (4150 crores) worldwide through the third Monday. It is currently the highest-grossing film of 2024 at the domestic and worldwide box office. ## Domestically, the movie is having similar legs to that of Christopher Nolan's mega-hit Oppenhermier which grossed $329 million. Outside North America, China is the biggest market for Dune 2 with $36 million, followed by the UK with $33 million, Germany with $25 million, France with $25 million, and Australia with $16 million. ## India, the movie has had a decent response so far with a gross collection of close to 30 crores ($3.60 million in 18 days. It is currently the highest-grossing Hollywood movie of 2024 at the Indian box office. Mumbai, March 17 - Director Vikas Bahl's supernatural horror thriller Shaitaan has entered the 100 crores net club on its 10th day and becomes the second Bollywood movie of 2024 after Hrithik Roshan's Fighter to do so. ## Starring Ajay Devgn, Jyothika, R. Madhavan, and Janki Bodiwala, Shaitaan scored approximately 93.30 crores net through the second Saturday (9 days) and is looking to score another 9+ crores net on Sunday which will take the total collection to over 102+ crores. ## It has become the 119th film ever to top 100 crores net in the Hindi language. For Ajay Devgn, Shaitaan is his 13th movie, the second for R. Madhavan, and the first for Jyothika to achieve the milestone. Director Bahl also has his second film after Super 30 in this prestigious club. ## The worldwide collection of the movie is nearing 150 crores after the second weekend. Manjummel Boys has taken just 23 days to emerge as the new box office king of Malayalam cinema. ## Through the first three weeks (22 days), Manjummel Boys minted approximately 178.30 crores globally, including an estimated 115.30 crores in India and 63 crores overseas. Having crossed 2018's final total on its 23rd day, the Chidambaram S. Poduval's directorial now eyes the untouchable milestone of 200 crores worldwide gross yet. ## Manjummel Boys recently claimed the top-grossing Malayalam movie at the domestic box office, again beating 2018 which grossed around 110.50 crores in India. The Chidambaram's directorial has become the highest-grossing Malayalam movie of all time at the domestic box office, beating last year's 2018. ## Based on a true incident, Manjummel Boys has surpassed 2018's final domestic collection of 110.50 crores gross at the time of penning this piece. The movie minted around 109.50 crores through the third Tuesday (19 days) and with today's collection, it will be around 112 crores gross. ## Apart from becoming the biggest Malayalam domestic grosser, Manjummel Boys is also inches away from topping 2018's 180 crores gross collection to become the biggest Mollywood worldwide grosser. It will be around 173 crores at the end of the end by 4th Friday, it will claim the top spot. ## The movie has been creating history at the box office since its big-screen debut on February 22.
