"OMG 2" was released during the Independence Day weekend of 2023 and was up against a tsunami-like "Gadar 2", still, it managed a take a decent opening before word of mouth spread its magic. ## Directed by Amit Rai, the sequel minted over 72 crores net during its extended 5-day Independence Day weekend after taking the opening of over 10 crores. The Lokesh Kanagaraj's directorial surpassed the lifetime total of superstar Mani Ratnam's "Ponniyin Selva - 1" in just 6 days to claim the top spot. ## The latest LCU hit has grossed £1.36 million (13.75 crores) in the UK in the first 6 days. "Ponniyin Selvan - 1" grossed £1.34 million in its lifetime run last year and was the first Tamil movie to cross the coveted £1 million mark in the UK. Superstar Rajinikanth's "Jailer" is the 3rd highest-grossing in the list with £1.33 million. ## "Leo", distributed by Ahimsa Entertainment, is only the 3rd Tamil movie to cross the £1 million mark in the country, after "PS-1" and "Jailer", and interestingly, all three films in the last two years. Hyderabad, October 25 - Superstar Prabhas' action drama film Salaar Part 1 - Ceasefire is one of the most-awaited Pan-Indian films and his collaboration with director Prashanth Neel is doing wonders for the movie in the trade. ## Produced by Hombale Films, "Salaar" was supposed to be released on September 28, 2023, before it was pushed to December 22, 2023, worldwide. Prabhas is one of the most bankable stars in Telugu and this is leading to huge pre-release business in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. ## According to a report in Track Tollywood, the theatrical rights of the film are sold at a whopping 165 crores approximately in the two Telugu states, which is the second highest ever after SS Rajamouli's "RRR". "Salaar" is only the third film to get sold for 150+ crores in AP-TG, after "Baahubali 2" and "RRR". ## Mythri Movie Makers has reportedly bought the theatrical rights of the film for the Nizam area for approximately 65 crores. Ceded rights sold for approx. 27 crores while rights for Uttarandhra have been sold at 20 crores and 14 crores have come from the deal of East Godavari rights. Guntur and Nellore rights have been locked at 12 crores and 6 crores, respectively while the rest of the areas' rights are being said to be done in the range of 20 crores. ## "Salaar" will need to score over 200 crores gross in order to break even and emerge as a box office hit. The movie is believed to be a unique sci-fi actioner, produced by AGS Entertainment. ## While things have just started rolling out, T-Series has already grabbed the music rights of T68 in all languages. Los Angeles, October 24 - Paramount Pictures' spy action thriller Mission: Impossible 8, starring Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, is no longer coming out in 2024 as originally scheduled after getting postponed to 2025.## Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the sequel to "Dead Reckoning Part One" (2023) was supposed to be released on June 28, 2024, but has been postponed by nearly a year to May 23, 2025, according to Variety. ## The movie was forced to halt production amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike and won't be completed in time to open next summer, just like many other tentpole movies, including Marvel Studios. "MI 8" will directly follow the events of "Dead Reckoning Part One", but it will hit screens with a different title, from the original name "Dead Reckoning Part Two".## "Mission: Impossible 7" or "Dead Reckoning Part One" was opened in theatres in June 2023 amid massive expectations.
