Chennai, November 6 - The stalwarts of Indian cinema, Kamal Haasan and filmmaker Mani Ratnam first collaborated in 1987 for a gangster film "Nayakan", and now, after 35 years, the duo is joining hands for the second time for a mega project. ## Both Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam are coming after delivering the biggest blockbusters of their careers, in the form of "Vikram" and "Ponniyin Selvan - 1", respectively and they feel that this is the right time for them to come together for the second film. ## Kamal Haasan took to Twitter and announced his 234th film which will be directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International and Ratnam's Madras Talkies and presented by Red Giant Movies. The music will be composed by Oscar winner A.R. Chennai, November 4 - Maverick filmmaker Mani Ratnam's period action drama film Ponniyin Selvan Part - 1 was released in September this year and broke many box office records. Chennai, October 31 - One of the biggest Tamil films of 2023, Thalapathy Vijay's family action drama Varisu has been in the red hot demand. The massive fan-following of Thalapathy and the fact that his low rated films have done huge collections at the box office, is tempting makers to set high prices for theatrical business.## "Varisu" is produced by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations and it was recently reported that he has been asking high prices for his two upcoming films, the second film is Ram Charan's "RC15". ## According to the latest post by Aakashavaani, except for Austrailia and New Zealand, all other overseas countries' business is closed for "Varisu". Overseas rights of the film have reportedly sold out for approx. Rs. 35 crores, which is the highest ever pre-release overseas business for Thalapathy Vijay's film. ## Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, "Varisu" will also be released in Telugu as "Vaarasudu" though it will be a dubbed version as confirmed by the director himself in a recent interview. The movie was believed to be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie where the Tamil title is Varisu, and the Telugu title is Vaarasudu. ## Now, director Vamshi has made things clear about the language and told Tamil magazine Vikatan that "Thalapathy 66" is a proper Tamil movie that will also be dubbed into Telugu as "Vaarasudu". A Sequel To Actor Karthi's Blockbuster 'Sardar' Announced

Chennai, October 26 - Tamil star Karthi is having the best year of his career with back-to-back blockbusters at a time when most of the top actors are struggling at the box office. ## The talented actor's "Viruman" was a big hit, followed by mega-blockbuster "Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1" and now, he has one more blockbuster in his hands in the form of "Sardar" which has grossed approx. 45 crores worldwide in just 5 days and emerged as a Diwali 2022 winner. ## Meanwhile, buoyed by the mega success of "Sardar", the makers have confirmed the sequel to this spy thriller with an official promo. During the press meet, the makers dropped a brief promo to announce that the filming for "Sardar 2" will commence soon. ## "Sardar 2" is likely to release in 2023. Interestingly, Karthi is lining up a couple more sequels in the same year as well. He will also have "Ponnyin Selvan 2" which will release in the summer of 2023, and keenly awaited "Khaithi 2" which will commence filming in the second half of 2023 and may release in 2024. ## The film is written and directed by P. S. Mithran and produced by S Lakshman Kumar, under the banner of Prince Pictures. This film is a depiction of the contrast between father and son's beliefs. The son, a police officer, believes that any deed of his should be broadcasted whereas the father, an intelligence officer, spent thirty-two years in prison for the greater good. ## The film stars Karthi in a dual role with Raashii Khanna, Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Panday, Laila, Rithvik, and Munishkanth in prominent roles. The 200-crore club in Tamil Nadu is the rarest of the rare achievement as the movie ticket prices in the state significantly remain low as compared to the other Indian states. ## "PS-1" portrays Tamil history to its fullest and this has played a major role in the film breaching this massive box office milestone.
