Box Office: Fahadh Faasil's Blockbuster 'Aavesham' Nears 100 Crore India Gross

Kochi, May 6 - Fahadh Faasil's action comedy film Aavesham is nearing becoming the 4th Malayalam movie of all-time and second of 2024 to top 100 crores gross collection at the domestic box office after crossing 90 crores gross mark in its 4th weekend. ## The Jithu Madhavan's directorial venture grossed an estimated 6.35 crores in its 4th weekend which pushed its total domestic collection to around 92.50+ crores gross in 25 days. The movie dropped around 50% from 3rd weekend due to the new release but is expected to gain strength again as the week progresses. ## Aavesham is expected to enter the 100 crores gross club during the 5th weekend in India which will make it only the 4th Mollywood title after Pulimurugan, 2018, and Manjummel Boys to achieve the feat. Except for Pulimurugan, the other 100 crores grosser have been released in the last 12 months which is already termed as a golden period for the industry. ## At the worldwide box office, Aavesham is nearing the 150 crores mark and it will reach the milestone in the next couple of days. Mumbai, May 6 - Kunal Khemu's directorial debut Madgaon Express still has something left in it to bring laughter at the box office as the comedy entertainer is kind of having a rebound at the low level domestically.## Produced by Excel Entertainment, Madgaon Express, which once looked like would finish under 25 crores net, is now looking at 35+ crores and might get close to the 40 crores mark. In its 7th weekend, the movie minted approximately 1.30 crores net which is more or less similar to Akshay Kumar's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan's 4th weekend collection. ## The movie didn't show any drop from the 6th weekend as the total collection of Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi, and Avinash Tiwary-starrer entertainer is approximately 33.80 crores net (40.25 crores gross) in 45 days. Chennai, May 5 - Horror-comedy Aranmanai 4 is set to change the fortune of the Tamil film industry which has had an underwhelming year so far at the box office. The movie took the second-biggest opening for a Tamil title this year and has strengthened its position with the big jump on the second day. ## Directed by Sundar C, Aranmanai 4 witnessed a jump of around 43% on its second day to score approximately 7.65 crores gross collection, pushing total collection to around 13 crores in two days at the domestic box office. In Tamil Nadu, the movie has minted around 10.25 crores gross. ## The Tamil version of the film has alone minted approximately 11.75 crores while the Telugu version has grossed 1.25 crores gross. Chennai, May 4 - Actor and filmmaker Sundar C's 4th instalment of the horror-comedy franchise Aranmanai has taken a good start at the domestic box office, scoring the second biggest opening for a Tamil title in 2024. ## Starring Tamannaah Bhatia, and Raashii Khanna in the leading roles, Aranmanai 4 grossed approximately 5.25 crores on its opening day in India in Tamil and Telugu languages. The Tamil version alone minted an estimated 4.75 crores gross while the Telugu version scored around 55 lakh gross. ## The opening of Aranmanai 4 is the second biggest for a Tamil title in 2024 after Dhanush's Captain Miller which minted approximately 10 crores gross opening day. Chennai, May 4 - There seems to be one last change in the release dates before the Indian summer box office kicks off with a bang. ## As the Indian box office is looking to rebound from the lean couple of months, the makers of Pan India movies are locking dates to give the best shot at the box office. Veteran Kamal Haasan's vigilante action Indian 2, directed by Shankar, was announced on June 13/14 for box office hunting. ## While the makers are still to make any changes to the release date of Indian 2, rumours are hitting social media stating the postponement of it. The rumours say that the much-awaited Pan-Indian flick has been postponed to July, however, there is no reliable confirmation on the same yet. ## Indian 2, the sequel to 1996 Indian, has been in the making for a long time and it has already been postponed multiple times. Los Angeles, May 4 - Warner Bros. Pictures' post-apocalyptic action adventure film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is ready to roll its arm at the box office coming 24 May. The prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) could be a winner as per the early box office projection. ## According to Deadline, Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth-fronted blockbuster is tracking to earn $40 million - $50 million over the 4-day domestic opening weekend at the domestic (North America) box office. The report says that it could edge out Sony/Alcon Entertainment's animated Garfield which is tracking a $35 million opening in the same weekend. ## Deadline reports that Furiosa has the benefit of being an Imax and PLFs and a Cannes Film Festival world premiere as a global loudspeaker which gives it a shot at $40+ million start from earlier projection of $30+ million, same as Garfield. ## Directed by George Miller, Furiosa could also turn into a surprise winner at the Indian box office. Chennai, May 3 - Thalapathy Vijay's sports action drama film Ghilli is having an excellent re-run and has broken into the 30 crores mark at the worldwide box office. It is already one of the highest-grossing Tamil movies of the year. ## The movie has grossed around 24.25 crores in India in 13 days so far. From the second Monday-Thursday (4 days), it minted approximately 4-4.25 crores gross which is an excellent hold. At the overseas box office, the blockbuster has grossed approximately 6.50 crores, pushing the total worldwide collection to around 30.75 crores gross. ## Ghilli will cross Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam's lifetime collection of 33 crores in the coming days to become the 3rd highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 at the worldwide box office. Starring Tabu, Kriti Sanon, and Kareena Kapoor, the movie is getting benefitted from the lean phase of new movies. ## Directed by Rajesh Krishnan, Crew minted approximately 3 crores net, dropping around 24% in its 5th week. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the movie has been confirmed to release in Japan on July 5 in the dubbed version. ## Salaar: Ceasefire will be released by distribution company Twin in the island country. The company unveiled the official Japanese poster and and special promo teaser.
